From The Adventures of Churchy Church Mouse And His Cousin Tootsie. This Church Mouse story came about after reading Scripture from the book of Matthew, chapter 10 verse 38. Jesus said to His disciples, "And he who does not take up his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me." I learned that here was Jesus' first mention of the word "cross" to His disciples. Did it mean they were going to carry a cross like He was going to and then be nailed to it? No, Jesus was seeking total commitment from them, even though their lives would be threatened by the evil one of this world. Churchy knows that Jesus is worthy of out total commitment. No matter how the world treats Him, Jesus will always be in the place that rightfully belongs to Him alone. Tootsie is always seeking excitement and adventure. But, Churchy knows that if she doesn't "find" Jesus, she is lost and will never know the full meaning of Christmas.
