More The Spirit of the Forest was born shortly after my first son Joshua, my little miracle. When I was blessed with a second, Jarrett, I knew that dreams really did come true - what more proof do you need, after all? Therefore, I set about expressing this wonderful magical experience in words they would someday come to recognize and love - words about magic, miracles and dreams! The Spirit is an angel, who finds love and respect through her friendship with the Little Prince when he rescues her one day in the Forest. You see, he is on his own journey, seeking magic and miracles, but finding mystery. Through each other's eyes they find that, magic is itself a mystery, and that magic lies in their own hearts, and has been there the whole time. This is an important truth, which I have tried to express in an enchanted story, to help other children find the magic in themselves, and understand the importance of others (and especially their mothers!) Who will help them. I hope my sons will take pleasure in reading this story as I have in writing it. Perhaps they will pass it on to their own children - another miracle. Of course it's not only children who find their inspiration through others. Adults are just the same! My husband has always been my biggest supporter when it comes to my writing. I have been married now for 10 years; all fairytales have a happy conclusion. Therefore, no prizes for guessing who helped me bring the angel out of the forest of my imagination and onto the page. Thank you Robert, I could not have written this without you. Do I like being a writer? Yes, I love it. Words are the magic I can use to create memories through the marks on a page. To see things from different perspectives. To express the experiences and lessons of real life through the medium of fantasy and delight. I feel I am lucky to understand something of the power of emotions - you know, they are unique in the universe and my own dream is that our children will never loose them. If The Spirit of the Forest can make a child smile, or a parent curl up beside their son or daughter to read, then that's love, and I thank my little Prince and his angel for sharing some with us.
