Rusty was a little 8 year old boy with a big problem. As an orphan, he lived with his grandparents, who had little income. As a little ragamuffin, who never smiled or participated in anything at school, he was an outcast. When it was time for the class Christmas party, each student was asked to bring something. Rusty thought he had nothing to give until he found an old, dead skeleton of a Christmas tree. He thought it was beautiful and took it to his teacher. Then wondrous things began to happen. The tree became a thing of beauty and Rusty was so happy he started to smile again. It became a tree for all seasons and Rusty learned that it does not take money to give a valuable gift; it just takes love the greatest gift of all.
