This collection of more than fifty whimsical poems was written for children, though parents and even grandparents will enjoy reading side by side with them. They will discover together many shared experiences of childhood-and be inspired to turn more of these moments into memories! So many simple everyday happenings are all around and right in front of us. These can become moments that matter, to be recognized and appreciated-if we pause long enough in our busy lives to notice them.
Sharon Cowley is the mother of seven grown children and is now a grandmother. For years, she has written poetry to express thoughts and feelings and to tell little stories. She has a degree in elementary education and, after teaching for a year, chose to stay home as a full-time mother and homemaker. She volunteered for many years in public schools and in recent years has worked with the elderly and with special-needs children. She has had many teaching and leadership opportunities within her church and community. Most recently, she has developed the passion of writing poems for children. She believes that these poems may awaken in children pleasant meaningful thoughts and evoke memories for parents and grandparents to share as they nurture their little ones through childhood. She truly enjoys searching her surroundings for the good in the world, as well as celebrating the many simple pleasures that life sets before us.
