Fairy tales begin, "Once upon a time," and end with, "happily ever after." Unfortunately for us, "happily ever after" is truly just in fairy tales. Every little girl wants to be the beautiful princess, and every little boy wants to kill the dragon. The tales are wonderful for the imagination, but leave little for our "little ones" to grow by. All children are looking for role models, but who are they finding? My children loved superheroes. Sadly, not all children choose to pattern themselves after the "good guy." Why can't we as the parents, grandparents, teachers and leaders be the role models they choose? Once Inside a Storybook... is reinstating the idea that children's stories should have morals. This author's personal experience as a mother of deep spiritual conviction and the strong values she attempts to set for her own children are the driving forces that led to the creation of the stories contained within these covers. Hopefully they will help to make the role models our young ones idolize be the same guardians that spend time teaching strong morals to them. In the end, good does triumph over evil-not due to mutations, but because we simply love our children.
