MoreThe author, Ted Jacobsen, became the victim of childhood Polio, so, competitive sports were out of the question. He hung around sports teams at church, during high school and later in college athletics. These associations and, a college degree, put him in a position to accept a job in a university athletics department as a ticket and business manager. This job gave him a background in budgets, scheduling and the ins and outs of Conference business and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) events. A wonderful new arena provided a venue for regional and national basketball championships, and many high school league games and finals were hosted in this new arena. A national champion Women's Gymnastics team was developed and nurtured here and drew huge crowds to see the "pretty little people." Attending NCAA gathering and serving on several College Athletics Business Managers (CABMA) provided visits to many parts of the U.S. and these meetings and the famous cocktail parties gave occasions for swapping stories, enjoying rumors and re-living the fantasies of all sporting events from around the nation. The author listened, doubted, wondered and then finally began to believe some of these rumors. Athletic Directors, faculty athletic representatives and other department workers all questioned these stories, but to our knowledge, no charges were ever brought against any college or university. .This story is a pure work of fiction.and a lot of time and research.! .I'm not sure that any of this is true ? Many student athletes, friends and fellow workers all contributed parts to many of the characters in the book. Characters you will meet and I hope enjoy: Desmond Bliss, Summer Sessions, Johnny Navarro and several wonderful women help to tell this story.
