While my children were growing up, I made up stories to help them understand some of the problems they may have had during the day. These stories were told as bedtime stories and I used animals as characters so as not to cast suspicions on them or their young friends. The Crow That Would Not Listen was one such story, telling about what could happen if they or their friends did not listen to what their parents told them and that mothers knew a great deal and were trying to help their children grow when they told them what to do or how to act. The Crow That Would Not Listen gives the child a humorous outcome to a little crow that refused to do what his mother told him. He didn't get hurt or sick, but was just a little embarrassed and as a result of his embarrassment decided to do what his mom told him from then on.
