Frannie, a slightly phobic eleven-year-old, has been told by her diplomat father she is to accompany him to Maui on a business trip. She must leave the safety of her home and her best friend, Helga, to face the unknown halfway round the world. In Maui, through repeated failures, she learns to scuba dive, and the adventure begins! She encounters strange people, real danger, and the unknown-including a mysterious sunken ship.
