When I was between the ages of 6 and 10, my friend Rick and I looked up to his older brother, Julian (who we called Jules). He was so cool to us because he had a motorcycle, an electric guitar, a sports car, a girlfriend... and he always had his eyes half closed. When I asked Rick why, he just laughed and said. "I guess it's because he's just cool!" As it turns out, it was due to some eye nerves being severed at birth from forceps. However, we didn't find this out until years after Jule had left a long and lasting impression on us. This book personifies Jule by showing how cool Jule would be in any situation or as various characters depicted. Most importantly, it demonstrates that it can be fun and cool to have such a character setting good examples to be emulated.
