Meet Marvy-short-for-Marvelous Baker-a curious six-year old with a keen perspective and a knack for making grownups' eyes "roll around." Of course, Marvy says that's just because "your eyes get loose when you grow up."

In Marvy Baker's debut, she is surrounded by the hubbub of the upcoming Pot Luck at church, an effort to raise money for L.C.A. Marvy can't seem to figure out why a little girl named Elsie Yay needs so much money for food; nevertheless, Marvy is a good sport and does her part to help. In addition to lending her own special recipe to the lemonade stand and assisting her mother in making apple pie, she also secretly adds the finishing touch to all of the dishes at the Pot Luck. Along the way, Marvy learns the importance of helping others and a much-needed lesson in culinary arts.
