So you think you've seen Manhattan? Well think again... a quirky big pooch named Benny Be is about to take you on a tour of the Big Apple like no other tourist guide around. About Town With Benny Be, written by Trish Bentley and illustrated by Nicole Neely, is an innovative new children's book featuring her quirky English setter in Andy Warhol-type illustrations/photographs taken at famous and not-so famous New York City landmarks. Benny Be roams through the big city, showing children the Manhattan he loves. From the Empire State building and Lady Liberty to Times Square and some funky hot spots in the East Village, Benny takes everyone on a fun filled adventure through the best city in the world.

The 8.5 / 8.5 hard cover book is easy for little children to handle; and its simple sentence and rhyme is perfect for beginner readers. The book is also educational as it introduces kids to one of America's most loved and famous cities in a fun and entertaining way.

Trish, an avid dog lover and Manhattanite, says Benny is a dog with funny quirks who just seems to attract people. In the book, his personality takes on an entity of its own as he prances about the Big Apple posing for pictures. He shows up in a cab; on the street and even in Lady Liberty's crown.

"New York is one of the greatest cities in the world" she said. "I thought it would be a fun way for both child and parent to interact and discuss famous landmarks by pointing out where Benny is in the picture."

As part of the initial roll-out of the Benny Be campaign, Trish and Benny Be will be making many book tour stops offering both hand signatures and paw prints for attendees. The book, arriving just in time for the Christmas season, would make an excellent gift for dog-lovers, kids and those I-love-anything-New-York-people on your gift list.
