Hank-Willy has big plans. He wants to go to Nashville to become a country and western star-and he wants to win the affections of Priscilla Angora, the beautiful cat of his dreams. But Montague Manx III, the conceited cat with a pedigree, has other ideas. With the help of the smelly, good-for-nothing sneak-thief, Fish-Head Eddie, he sets about to ruin Hank-Willy and get Priscilla for himself. Determined to thwart Montague's dastardly schemes, Hank-Willy finds his efforts are aided by the unexpected appearance of the "ghost" of Farmer Purvis, the human who hated cats, and by Tallulah Tabby, the elderly spinster, who holds a black belt in karate.
