The Children's Story is imaginary beginning with a little girl describing herself as Nancy's look-alike except she has pink hair. She describes where she lives and offers to tell her of the many adventures she has.

In her Look-alike Land, she explains what happens to her when she wants to skip meals and how the White Knight helps her fly home. Awaking next morning she found that Cicero Scissor Bird has snipped a bit of her heart and slipped away. She set out to find something to fill that empty space while Butterfly Bows and Barrette Birds flew around her and a Bow settled in her hair.

At Bubble Bath Bay on Talc Beach, she discovers Slippery Sloop, a bar of soap,who offers to take her sailing on the Bay even if he is afraid he will melt in the water. While sailing they rescue The Bobby Pin Boys who were floating on a raft of sponge and they offer to join her search. Experiencing a tornado, Slippery Sloop landed safely on a strange beach where he decides to wait for the little girl. He knew she was safe with the Bobby Pin Boys.

Traveling up a path, they observe Sherlock Comb and Harry Brush bouncing around with Sherlock chasing Harry. Sherlock Comb explained that it is the custom of Eyeshadow Land for him to chase Harry and Harry loved it. Several generations ago Harry's relative had stolen every hair of the all the people in the land. The King took control and his punishment required that all of the Brushes be followed in the future. The Brushes love to run, so they are always being chased. They loved it, but unfortunately had never been taught to do anything else.

Traveling in Eyeshadow Land, the path leaned, bucked and bounced. In the distance was a castle. They eventually reached the gates and fell through them right into a pool filled with shampoo. The Eyeshadow Queen and the populace were preparing to wash their hair to greet them. She hurriedly stopped the shampoo and saved them from the sticky goo! They noticed that the Queen has very unusual looks and her hair is Green while her subjects hair is Blue. She tells a story explaining how this happened. The little girl gives her a Butterfly Bow and the Queen turns into a rare beauty.

Entering Lipstick Land, they experience celebrations of the seasons in different ways. Walking on a beach after a July 4th display of fireworks, she stumbles onto Slippery Sloop waiting to take her home. She feels her experiences have healed her heart and wants to go home to see her parents.

Slippery Sloop delivers her to her parents and returns to his special dish. Her empty heart is filled by finding a faithful friend in Slippery Sloop and her heart is healed with the love of her parents. Love heals.
