The story begins in Mr. Smith's grocery store where the mouse family lived happily until the eventful day when the tragedy happened and they had to find a new home. Their adventure in leaving the store and venturing to the forest to find a new home is packed full of exciting events. Cinarella, the high spirited child mouse, is always finding things to do that lead to trouble but end with a well learned lesson. Just as human childen experience the lesons of growing up, so do the animal children. Each chapter in the book relates to an event for a specific time of the year. The forest children also have to go to school to learn many subjects. It is not necessary for a deer to know how a mousetrap is made, or to know about flying. However, for the owls, bats and birds, it is important to learn all about flying and also astronomy. Gymnastic lessons are important for the squirrels. These storeies will delight readers both young and old. Chapters include, Saying Good-bye to their feathered friends, Christmastime in the forest and writing their xmas list, wishing on a star, a bear named Teddy and waiting for signs of spring, The little frog princess.
