One little grey duck is left behind by his family when his wing is broken by a fox licking his chops and thinking of the good dinner he will make of Grey Neck when the ice closes in on the tiny pond. In a warm ending the little duck is saved in the nick of time by a hunter, some children are made very happy, and the fox just misses being made into a fur coat!
