Rennie is the story of a wealthy little girl who grows up to become a successful doctor. Along the way, however, she has many adventures as she attempt to come to terms with a world that does not always accept her.

The story begins during Easter, when Rennie follows a rabbit into the forest and gets lost. Here, while she is crying and alone, a small, starving puppy comes to comfort her. Her father rescues them, and the two become inseparable. She names the puppy Jack, and he is soon a loved family member.

As Rennie grows older, she finds herself in love with Terry, her chauffeur during which time she was sent to India to care for her grandmother's estate. Will she end up with Terry or with Matt, her childhood friend?
