Detective Shark Morgan and his partner Dell Hassler are struggling to solve several mysterious murders in the outer banks of Hilton Head, South Carolina. There is the brutal murder of a drifter, the disappearance of a local fisherman, and the hit and run death of a young Hispanic restaurant worker.

In addition to Shark's hectic work schedule, his former flame--the source of trouble between him and Dell--Marissa Langford, reappears in his life.
