Have rec this book to so many students, only one out of the dozens has not absolutely loved it and continued on to read the trilogy. My husband, kids, and myself have read the series and all rank it a top five favorite. Really enjoy how Collins takes the archetypal hero role and gives it to Katnis... more

I started reading at 8pm and didn't stop until the books was finished at 3.30 the next morning. Cannot remember when last I was so riveted, so invested, in a book at its characters. But what everybody says about this is right. Starting to read it is like stepping out of an airp... more

This is an engrossing read. Collins has created a retrograde world of a future America, which has followed on some unnamed societal disaster. A central government, the Capitol, has put down rebellions across the country, and all citizens are now organized into twelve geographic Districts, with ea... more
