"East West Basics was created to meet the needs of the beginning student. It features opportunities for personalization, built-in recycling and review of new language, and clearly-stated teaching points. The "Workbooks provide a wide range of writing activities related to the oral skills developed in the "Student Books. The interleaved "Teacher's Books include step-by-step teaching suggestions and additional activities, as well as background information on grammar and usage, vocabulary, culture, and pronunciation. Answer keys and tapescripts are also provided. The Cassettes contain the opening conversations and task-listening sections from the "Student Books.
